"I have called you by name..."

Those are words that God spoke long ago through a man by the name of Isaiah to a bunch of people who were scattered, confused, lost, or overwhelmed by the pressures of life.  They were words of hope in an age of anxiety.  "When you pass through the waters," said God, "I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you."

There are times in our lives in which it feels as though we are passing through waters or walking through fire; perhaps you have been through experiences like that yourself.  Yet God told those people long ago that even in the most difficult moments of their lives, there was yet hope: "For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior..."  "You are precious in my sight, and honored, and I love you..."  "Do not fear, for I am with you..."  "I have called you by name... you are mine."

God said those words to a bunch of people long ago... and God says them again, right here, right now... to you.  Yes, even you.  No matter who you are, no matter what your life journey has been up to this point, no matter what fears or anxieties or pressures may be weighing upon you right now, this very moment, there is Someone who loves you, unconditionally: "You are precious in my sight, and honored, and I love you."  There is Someone who will give you strength even in the darkest times: "Do not fear, for I am with you."  There is Someone who is inviting you to embark on an adventure of growth and learning and discovery and service: "I have called you by name... you are mine."

We are a community of people who have heard God calling our name, and who seek to respond faithfully to God's call in our daily lives and in the life of our community.  We invite you to join us on an incredible adventure.  We welcome all people who respond in trust and obedience to God's grace in Jesus Christ, and we do not deny membership to anyone because of race, ethnic origin, or any other worldly condition.  We recognize that God's love extends to all people, and we believe that God calls us to embrace diversity in all its forms.  No matter who you are, you are welcome here.
