Be a Greeter
Like to talk with people?  Enjoy being warm and friendly and welcoming?  Opportunities abound for you to greet people as they arrive for worship.  Contact the church office to offer your gifts.

Be an Usher
Like collecting money?  Good at counting heads?  Our ushers don't show people to their seats, but they do collect the offering each week, and they do take a "headcount" for attendance tracking purposes.  We'll teach you how to do this job.  Contact the church office to offer your gifts.

Be a Liturgist
Like to speak in front of people?  Or want to learn?  We'll teach you how to assist in leading the worship service.  Contact our Pastor, Rev. Bill Pinches [hyperlink], if you are curious and want to know more, or contact the church office if you're ready to offer your gifts.

Run the Sound Board
Like tech stuff?  Know how to run a sound board, or want to learn?  We'll teach you how.  Contact the church office if you're ready to offer your gifts.

Deliver Christmas Baskets
Enjoy opportunities to reach out and make a difference in someone's life?  Every year, our Deacons prepare small Easter baskets for our members who have been ill or aren't able to get out and about.  We're delighted when people offer to help deliver these baskets on Easter Sunday following worship.  Contact the Deacons to offer your gifts.

Donate Food
Want to make a difference in the life of a hungry person here in the Mason area?  On the fourth Sunday of every month, we invite you to donate two cans of food to help alleviate hunger.  We accept any non-perishable food items (and also toiletries) and deliver them to Capital Area Community Services . You are, of course, welcome to bring more than two cans of food!  Contact the Deacons if you have any questions about offering your gifts.

Contribute to our Back-to-School Supplies Project
Want to make a difference in the life of a child?  Every summer, our Deacons prepare a backpack filled with clothing and school supplies for a number of needy children in the Mason area.  Detailed information is provided every summer.  Contact the Deacons for more information about offering your gifts.

Contribute to our Mitten Tree
Want to make a difference in the life of a child?  Every December, our Deacons sponsor a Mitten Tree.  You can sign up to purchase clothing or toys for a needy child in the Mason area.  Contact the Deacons for more information about offering your gifts.

Raise Money for Hunger Relief
Want to make a difference in world hunger relief efforts?  On the first Sunday of October every year, people from our church participate in Mason's annual CROP Walk for Hunger to raise money for hunger relief.  You can sign up to walk with us, you can financially sponsor a walker, or you can make a direct online donation.  Contact the Deacons for more information about offering your gifts.

Cook and/or Deliver a Meal for Someone Who Is Ill
Like to cook?  Like to make deliveries?  Enjoy opportunities to reach out and brighten someone's day?  Periodically, as needed, we provide meals to our members and friends who are ill or who have just spent time in the hospital.  There's always room for more people to help out (to cook, to deliver, or both).  Contact the Deacons for more information about offering your gifts.

Bake food for Loaves and Fishes
Like to cook?  Enjoy opportunities to reach out to the less fortunate?  On the fourth Thursday of every month, members of our Mission Committee take food to Loaves and Fishes (an overnight shelter in Lansing for the homeless).  We are thrilled when people offer to help prepare food.  We need dishes that can serve twelve people.  There is a sign-up sheet posted on the board in the Memorial Room.  For more information about offering your gifts, please contact our Mission Committee through the church office.

Work at Loaves and Fishes
Ready to step out in faith?  Willing to donate a few hours of your time?  Want to brighten the day of someone on their way to healthy functioning in society?  On the fourth Thursday of every month, members of our Mission Committee spend four hours (6:00 to 10:00 pm) at Loaves and Fishes (an overnight shelter in Lansing for the homeless), serving dinner and being gracious hosts to the guests.  We welcome new people to participate; a one-hour training session is required.  For more information about offering your gifts, please contact our Mission Committee through the church office.

Join a Prayer Chain
Have an active prayer life?  Believe that it makes a difference?  We have three active prayer chains that routinely pray for members and friends of the congregation when there is a need.  Each person on the prayer chain prays for the individual or situation in need of prayer, and calls the next person on the prayer chain to have them pray as well.  We are always happy to add more people to the prayer chains.  To offer your gifts, please contact Carole Richards through the church office.
