Parking and Handicapped Accessibility

at Mason First Presbyterian Church




Parking:

We are fortunate to have plenty of easily accessible parking.  We own about half a dozen spaces directly behind the church building, and there is an ample supply of municipal parking on the streets adjacent to the church and around the courthouse square, as well as in a municipal lot on the far side of Barnes Street, just northeast of the church.  Curbside parking is also permitted on Barnes Street.


Handicapped Accessibility:

We have two handicapped accessible entrances into the church building.  One of those allows entrance to the upstairs; the other allows entrance to the downstairs.

Upstairs: There is a handicapped-accessible ramp that leads to an entrance on the Maple Street side of the church building.  Once in the building from the ramp, it is easy to make your way to the upstairs rooms (the sanctuary, the Memorial Room, the church office, the Pastor's study, the Director of Christian Education's office, one set of bathrooms, the library, the bride's room, and some rooms in the education wing).

Downstairs: There is a handicapped-accessible entrance on the Barnes Street side of the church building.  Once in the building from that entrance, it is easy to make your way to the downstairs rooms (the chapel, the dining room, the kitchen, the youth room, more bathrooms, and more rooms in the education wing).

Unfortunately, at the present time, it is not possible to travel from one floor to the other inside the building without using one of our three sets of stairs.  You can, however, exit the building via one of the two handicapped accessible entrances, travel around the outside of the building, and enter again from the other entrance.  We hope to be able to address that issue at some point in the future.
